Abdominal ultrasound in Málaga
Ultrasound assessment of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas and other abdominal organs, right there in the consultation.
Quick, painless, no radiation
Abdominal ultrasound is often the first test for digestive symptoms. It shows the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen and kidneys, without radiation and with little preparation.
The ultrasound is performed in the consultation itself. The result feeds straight into the assessment and you get an evaluation immediately.
When an ultrasound makes sense
- Abnormal liver tests, suspected fatty liver
- Right upper abdominal pain, suspected gallstones
- Abdominal pain of unclear cause
- Follow-up of known liver cysts or lesions
- Monitoring chronic liver disease
- As part of the consultation for almost any complaint

What patients often ask
Do I need to fast?
Ideally yes, 4 to 6 hours. Then the gallbladder is full and easier to assess. You may drink water. The stricter rule (12 hours without solid food, 6 hours without water) only applies to examinations under sedation.
Can ultrasound replace endoscopy?
No. Ultrasound shows the organs from the outside, endoscopy the lining from the inside. They complement each other.
How often should I have a check?
It depends on the findings. For fatty liver or liver cysts, checks every 6 to 12 months are common.
